Booking an Appointment
With a friendly team waiting to help, booking an appointment with East Road Family Medical Centre is so much easy now. You can ring directly on the number below or book your medical appointment in Hocking by using our online system if you prefer.
Our standard appointments are generally 10 minutes . If you feel this will not be an adequate time to discuss with the doctor, please inform our reception staff when booking your appointment. If you walk-in to the surgery without an appointment, we will try our best to accommodate you, however we cannot guarantee there will not be a wait time.
Any information provided regarding the nature of your appointment, whether it be for injury, travel or pre-employment assessments will help us allocate the right amount of time for your appointment.
New Patient Registration
Telehealth Appointments
We offer Telehealth appointments to our existing patients only as regulations prohibit us from allocating Telehealth appointments to new patients. Telehealth appointments are no longer bulk billed.
Fee Information
Please note as of the 1st of August, 2023 Our Fees will be:

Fees:
- We continue to bulk bill: Children under 16 and concession and DVA card holders from Monday to Friday only.
- All consults will incur a “gap” fee as below.
- All accounts should be settled on the day via cash, eftpos or credit card.
- Medicare rebate can be collected through our system if you present your Medicare card.

Allied Health Providers
Allied Health Providers may charge a fee for medical services provided. Please check with reception for advice on the exact fees incurred for your specific treatment.
Cancellations/Late Appointments
If an appointment is missed without adequately informing (before 3 hours) our reception staff, a non-cancellation charge of $30 will apply.
Customer Communications
Communication Policy
We respect each individual’s right to have undivided time with the doctor during their consultation. For this reason, our doctors do not receive phone calls during consultations. If your concern is urgent, please inform the receptionist.
If you have requested or are waiting for our staff to return your phone call, please understand we try our best to return the phone call as quickly as possible, however other responsibilities may require our immediate attention.
Health Information Collection and Use
All personal health information recorded by your doctor is kept completely confidential. Full details of our privacy policy including third party disclosure and patient access to personal health information can be requested from our reception staff.
Personal Health Records
If you would like your records transferred to another practice, a health summary will be released at your request. There will be an administrative charge for comprehensive records to be sent.
If you would like your records transferred to our practice from another surgery, our reception staff can assist you. If you wish to obtain your own personal health records, we must receive a request in writing and sight your photo ID. There may be an administrative charge depending on the amount of information requested.
Recalls and Results
If you need to call a Doctor
If you need to discuss a medical matter with a doctor or get some changes through any of the consultations you had, please note that our doctors would need you to book an appointment to attend to your matter.
East Road Family Medical Centre doctors are available to discuss your healthcare services during normal surgery hours. If your doctor is already with a patient when you call, our professional reception staff will take your message and inform your doctor once they are out of their current meeting. We will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.
Reminder System
We believe that preventative healthcare services are key to happy, healthy lives, and take pro-active action to help you with such initiatives at our East Road Medical Centre. From time to time we may get in touch via a phone call, email or text message offering a range of preventative healthcare services in Hocking that are suitable for your lifestyle and needs.
You can opt-out of these messages if you wish, simply talk to the reception staff and let them know.
SMS Reminders
Please note we are sending SMS reminders regarding appointments and follow up visits. This is the only way we contact you for your follow-ups and recalls and you will be asked for your consent prior to registering. If you decided to opt-out please bear in mind that you will not be contacted , any other way by the staff.

Waiting Times
Please be advised that your waiting time could be extensive.
We know your time is important hence our entire team including doctors are trying their best to run on time . But due to the complexity of certain medical problems or due to an emergency present at the surgery, doctor Waiting times could change.
Please be patient as a respect to the person in consultation with the doctor and if you need more time than allocated with your doctor, they will always provide that time for you too. If you are unable to continue your wait, please let the receptionist know and she will reschedule your appointment.
We thank you for your understanding and patience as the doctor takes the time to provide excellent medical care to every patient.
Feedback
If you would like to make a complaint, please write it and handed it to the reception to pass on to the Practice Manager. Always please make sure to share all your contact details and mobile number for any investigation is required. All complaints will be delt according to practice policy and procedure.
